Re: Client/core dumping GPU WU after pause/reboot
This one dumped after I simply clicked Pause. Didn't shut down the computer. Just kept using the computer. 20:25:29:I1:WU349:Checkpoint completed at step 87500 20:57:28:I1:WU349:Completed 90000 out of 250000 steps (36%) 21:30:09:I1:WU349:Completed 92500 out of 250000 steps (37%) 22:02:16:I1:WU349:Co...

Re: Client/core dumping GPU WU after pause/reboot
In Windows Pause the work, give it a minute, before rebooting, please. If it is still dumping things then there might be something suspicious with your windows 11. Looking at your logs it seems you might have issues with your SSD. Oh, I don't shut down immediately. It's usually 2-3 minutes. Do I ne...

Client/core dumping GPU WU after pause/reboot
I didn't see this in the bugs list, so posting here to see if anyone else has experienced this. I have noticed that my computer production has started going down lately, and part of that might be related to what I've found. Upon shutdown and boot (laptop moving around), I would check the status of t...

Re: Fresh WU, 8.3.18 FAHCore24 isn't working or logging?
I suppose I was being impatient in testing this situation. But I do know that I've checked on Folding and found that minutes to hours have gone by without the core actually running. But in testing, I am finding it can take minutes for this CUDA to get set up: 08:45:45:I1:WU240:Platform 3: CUDA 08:45...

Fresh WU, 8.3.18 FAHCore24 isn't working or logging?
I've dumped and re-downloaded work units but the same symptoms occur. It doesn't seem like the WU is being processed. The log just stops here. Does anything come to mind to try to get this machine to process again? It seemed fine until the last week or two I think. I don't know when it started havin...

Re: v8 connect to v7 for status?
Something you might consider if you can’t find another workaround. The patch software is available at: https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Legacy-Patcher/ Never heard of this. Looks fun. I might just try this! Before its power supply failed, I tested earlier versions of the v8 client on 10.12.6 and...

v8 connect to v7 for status?
I tried many different searches here in the forum and web search and never found a relevant thread. Please just point me to the right place if this has already been asked&answered. One of my older Macs is pre-10.13 so cannot install v8. Is there any way to see/add the v7 client into my list of c...

Max CPU threads for "Full power"
Is there a client option (win/mac) which can be use to set the highest/max number of CPU threads which folding is allowed to use when set to "full power"? For my Mac machines for example, i want to set it to the number of Performance Cores the processesor has, as I've read utilizing the Ef...

Re: FAHControl is not connecting to my client [macOS 11]
Just want to call out that I still have to run these commands whenever I install FAH 7.x on a macOS system to prevent the FAHControl being stuck in "Updating". I just wish this thread would appear more readily in web search results. It took me hours to happen upon this thread again.

Re: 18717 Is Super Slow & Low PPD
I found the "fix" for the WUs which get stuck trying to start up. When a WU either restarts (after pause) or a new WU downloads and starts up, it will hang if I have a Startech USB-C multiport adapter connected to my system. As soon as I disconnect the adpater, the log file immediately res...

Re: 18717 Is Super Slow & Low PPD
I got another WU today which is causing the same issue: no work actually being performed. For hours and hours. It was no 18717 though. Log file looks exactly like the one I already posted. No response from the core for multiple hours after being "started." *********************** Log Start...

Re: 18717 Is Super Slow & Low PPD
FYI P18717 uses a lot of memory(~18GB), especially at the beginning during initialization. Ensure you have a pagesys file (or swap in linux) of at least 24GB. Otherwise slow or failure is what you're going to get. I have one running now where the swap file is 24GB and it is neither slow nor is it g...

Re: 18717 Is Super Slow & Low PPD
WU from this Project don't even seem to be processing on my system. I get about 800k ppd on my laptop (RTX A1000), and now it got a 18717 (29, 47, 297), and hours have gone by and GPU-Z reports nothing is happening and no progress on the WU at all. Windows Task Manager Performance tab shows 0% for C...
