Re: Suggested bug fix: stuck proteins

Usually a team member just deletes the files and re-installs without mentioning the exact bug. In one case mentioned recently, the team member mrreet2001 had not noticed the problem for a month. At the very least, if Folding doesn't produce proteins in a certain number of days and if there is no pro...

Suggested bug fix: stuck proteins

From time to time, a Folding computer on the team gets stuck. The owner has to delete the protein manually and then restart or re-install Folding.

This stuck protein should be automatically detected after a few days and Folding reinitializes itself.

Re: Issue with assignement server?

I have noticed a significant drop in team production today. EDIT: We were 20 % compared to daily average.

I'm wondering if it is due to a lack of proteins. I will ask our team members.

p3060_BBA5_1 deadline

The biggest protein yet. Worth 2539 points. "Only" 38 % bigger than the next biggest protein.

The deadline of 5 days is pretty tight for the size. Only 2 % of the protein is completed per hour on my 2.4 ghz iMac.

Writing data to disk.

I usually have Folding on my Intel iMac running because of the crontab startup. But if I see the CPU temperature rise to 62 C, I use Terminal to killall fah6. Later on, when the temperature drops to below 40 C, I might restart in the Terminal. I shutdown every night. The data is written to disk ever...

Forum Forum Index [FIXED]

I don't see a need to have "Folding Forum Forum Index" on certain pages, namely the main page http://foldingforum.org/

A simple "Folding Forum Index" is sufficient.

Whew. That's a load off my mind.

Vista ? ( forum rules probably don't allow a flame war )

Anyway, back to a more basic question. If you find the heat is too high on the laptop or the fans are running too long, I'd reconsider running Folding at all.
