Re: Not Folding At Full Power On Restart?
There's a lot to unpack there. First, we recommend you don't overclock. OK, caveat out of the way. Overclocking Settings The GPU does not save your overclocking settings, Precision X is doing that. Precision X should have a toggle to allow it to start when Windows starts. Try saving the overclock as...

Re: CPU has been around 88 C
Thermal paste - I'd recommend something like Arctic Silver 5 or Arctic MX-4, MX-5. Cooler - someone else might be able to jump in here with a recommendation, I don't have one. The vast majority of processors have their heat producing cores in the centre of the processor, so producing a heatsink for ...

Re: CPU has been around 88 C
Stability - if it's not throwing errors or random reboots then it's probably fine (famous last words?). Temperature - The maximum temperature (Tjmax) for that chip is 95C, I'm not sure if that is case or core temperature (core usually measures higher than case) but with the chip showing 88C I'd be l...

Re: "GPU disabled"- let's discuss
I thought I gave a pretty good answer to this last week. https://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.php?t=38093 But, why is it that a working GPU gets disabled say, upon a reboot? I'll give a couple of my thoughts on this specific query. 1). Linux uninstalls the proprietary drivers during major upgrades. It...

Re: Disabled GPU
Welcome to the forums There are a few reasons to why your GPU might show as disabled:- 1). it is an Intel iGPU/GPU, these are still in testing and have not yet been approved for full FAH (Folding At Home) use. 2). you do not have suitable drivers installed 3). it is and AMD/NVidia card that has been...

Check your work unit in the WU status page. Sometimes the work unit has uploaded but the client fails to receive the acknowledgement.

Re: 3950x LOW PPD
Also, I'm REALLY confused on why my CPU PPD went UP when I decreased my core count from -1 down to 10. I'm getting a significantly better CPU PPD at a core count of 10 on my 3950x than on another system with a 3600x set at 10 cores. My best guess? It's the difference between running something on 10...

Re: 3950x LOW PPD
The forums don't host images, you need to host them somewhere else and then link to them. A few thoughts:- GPU - suggest updating your geforce drivers. Cuda was only fully supported with the release of Core_22 0.0.18 in November of 2021 and this is when you should have seen a sustained increase in P...

Re: Projects Too Big To Handle?
a few things:- 1). wait until it has processed 2-3%, when you receive a work unit for a new project (one your system has not seen before) it defaults the ETA to the timeout, for project 18414 that is 4 days 2). these work unit normally take about 12 hours on my system. I'm running a 20 thread CPU sl...

Re: Too big units, comparing to just finished ones
It's called the "Task Scheduler" and it's part of Windows.
Start -> Windows Administrative Tools -> Task Scheduler
I'm not sure if you can run commands directly from the scheduler but I do know you can run batch files and powershell scripts from it.

Re: why GPU dependancy ?
Again, my opinion and (mis)understanding. I think there's a number of factors affecting this:- GPU compatibility Driver support GPU capability GPU performance Compatibility - the first thing to realise is that FAH want to leverage as wide a range of hardware as possible but need to draw the line som...

Re: why GPU dependancy ?
These are only my opinions and understanding. why does FAH depend upon GPU while it uses OpenCL or CUDA ? Because it's the GPUs carrying out the calculations. I'm sure this raises more questions than it answers. What benefit do GPUs give us? - The are capable of doing a massive amount calculations a...

What does your log show? Can you post your log? How to post logs and other useful info Here's the link to the WU stats page -> https://apps.foldingathome.org/wu Check your logs for the last work unit your system uploaded and copy the line into the PRCG box. The line should look like this:- 13:12:45:...
