Re: FAH won't run, won't connect
I case of an unclean shutdown (or maybe in your case) it can happen that config.xml gets corrupted, I've had this happen once. When I clicked the shortcut in Windows, simply nothing would happen (no error, no FAH). I managed to fix it by copying the latest config file from %APPDATA%\FAHClient\confi...

Re: Core temperature again
If I go to ajm's link (thanks), I can see it, plus some additional posts that I'm going to look at now. https://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=35502 < If I navigate from the front page, I end up here https://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=35502 < The link I saved on my desktop ...

Re: Core temperature again
OK, well that's really strange! I still don't see it. Nor the one from the mod. When I made those repeat posts, It showed up immediately after, but when I visited the link later it didn't show. After learning that others saw all three attempts, I thought it might be something to do with the link I'd...

Core temperature again
I started a topic about my high core temperatures on a 3900X here: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=35502 Many people gave useful responses and I gave some initial results but then I was away for 10 days. When I came back and did some more follow up of the suggestions, I posted results. For some reason that...

Re: New version not working
I have been using 7.6 for a while without problem, but a couple of days ago I couldn't get FAH to work at all after a reboot. Re-installing didn't solve the problem, but uninstalling, including checking the box to delete the data , before re-installing fixed it. You won't lose your points so long as...

Re: FAH won't run, won't connect
Depending on your selection during installation, FAH needs to be started manually - which is necessary if you also want to use your GPU for folding. (If installing as Windows service, it lacks permissions to access the GPU). Make sure you use the shortcut in the start menu (or on your desktop), so ...

Re: Core temperatures
I've been able to get back to this now after being away. Thanks to everyone who chipped in with advice and comments. I should have mentioned I'm running on Windows 10, and I updated the BIOS a few weeks ago. @PantherX, I ran LinpackXtreme_x64 on 24 threads and then 2 threads. I allocated 10GB RAM to...

FAH won't run, won't connect
I stopped folding, rebooted my PC and now FAH won't run. I'm getting Connecting to your Folding@home client Need help? Is Folding@home installed? Is Folding@home running? Try reloading this page. Try connecting directly. More help. Folding@home or FAH doesn't show in Task Manager, so it's not runnin...

Re: Core temperatures
Sounds a bit hot, considering it's running only 1 core. Have a look here: viewtopic.php?f=38&t=34207 And here: viewtopic.php?f=38&t=33630#p320272 Seeing that you have overclocked the CPU, maybe you have disabled Cool & Quiet? Apparently enabling that option makes quite a difference and ...
