Re: Specific GM107 is unsupported - why?
So this is my prepared text from before I pluged the Manli back again: FAHControl (even the Phython 3 Beta "python3-fahcontrol_7.7.0-1_all.deb") iss not working in todays version of Linux Mint 21.3. But the terminal will be enough to tell if there is a difference between 7.x and 8.x I pute...

Re: Specific GM107 is unsupported - why?
--lspci seems not to be included in the open Beta (Im using 8.3.4) If it gets added, the guide should also be updated with the new "fah-client", where the old was "FAHClient". Anyway lspci --nn |grep VGA should also tell enough: 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: NVIDIA Co...

Specific GM107 is unsupported - why?
Hello, after long time beeing absent, I decidet to configure a crap-rig for the upcoming season of some unused photovoltaik energy. I stoated all of my GTX750(Ti) together but for the Manli branded one I did get a 'unsupported' Message. https://tinypic.host/images/2024/02/09/Unsupported750Ti.md.jpeg...

GT 720M to old, isnt it?
I did get a old Laptop with broken Display. Can get a used Panel for ~50€, entire device in good condition (it isnt!) sell for around 80-100€ - so not interested in repairing it. I didnt invest time because i think it might not fold and there currently is no OS installed. Before throwing it away I w...

Re: OpenCL 1.2 finally in Mesa - please test
and FAH requires OpenCL 1.2. I can only write about my GPU that supports1.2 and is running within windows. The Mesamatrix https://mesamatrix.net/#OpenCL1.2 is listing most extensions build in. But I also get "1.1" by using clinfo. Could someone from the FAH Team proof if the build in exte...

Confirmed by testing this out with a Dell HD7470:bruce wrote:Trying to get bye with defective equipment really shouldn't be anybody's goal.
I randomly removed one of the four VRAM-Chips and like I was foreseeing it wont turn on anymore.

Re: GPUs with artifacts
Would the card run correctly, if at all, if you removed the problematic vram chip? Just leave open traces? No. Even if the card would pass self test (I dont think it would) the VBIOS will try to fill the VRAM it should have and crash. Thats the reason Fake-GPUs collapse by needing more VRAM than it...

Re: Credit comparability of same Project, different RCG
I did read about this overhead.
But the 770 isnt close to use up the bandwith of my PCIe2 x4 Slot (max 15% GPU-Z says)
The system itself is at 50-60% CPU and has about 2GB RAM free.
So maybe Windows in general is slower, or there is a bottleneck i dont see, or the WUs are not comparable.

Credit comparability of same Project, different RCG
Hello, im curios if a WU with the same Base Credit but different Run, Clone, Gen are easy to compare or not. Background info: I now own two GTX770, one running on a Linux- the other on a Windows-Computer. Theyre both running a 17800 WU, same Base Credit. The 770 on Windows is around 2000 Points lowe...

Re: GPUs with artifacts
Maybe we should add a disclaimer to this thread: If you cant deal with hardware repairs dont try GPUs with artifacts. While I would agree with everyone else, Sometimes the artifacts are caused by VRAM overheating, and the VRAM isn't actually damaged. [...] I'd give it about a 20% chance you can make...

Re: GPUs with artifacts
I was thinking something more along the lines of undervolting or underclocking faulty vram chips Its not worth it. On rare occasions you will find a GPU that accepts drivers wich are essential for undervolting and underclocking. And that alone wont fix the problems. If there something is not connec...

Re: GPUs with artifacts
50E for, lets say, a broken R9 270... I did get my Fingers on a 'broken' GTX770 for just 20€ including shipping. Its a very long card. There was a high chance it was mounted without a supporting stand. And as i expected: One of the outer VRAMs, just where the card would bend, had a poor balled BGA....

Re: Radeon R7 240 fails to start folding
So, apparently it is folding again. Dunno why tho :D I would bet its crunching not a WU of the following: 13446, 17433, 17434, 17435 R7 240 HD 7970 Whatever " Graphics/Compute: GFX6 " means its on both of our GPUs. Theyre also both GCN 1.0 Maybe there is simply a bug or missing parts in t...
