Re: Historical TFLOPS stats

The stats page, https://stats.foldingathome.org/os, shows the current computing power of FAH. The Internet Archive only has stats starting at 2018, which shows a significant in activity compared to the current statistics. It makes sense that there would be a temporary increase in folding during COV...

Re: beta projects

In all fairness, when you have a simple box to check in the user interface, people are going to use it. And it's not like the same thing didn't happen with earlier versions regardless. Being that the majority of points/stablity/core issues/etc take place within the internal testers now there really ...

Re: Project 18251 very low PPD on RTX 2060s

But a reminder for the internal testers.... All the first work units ran at normal PPD estimates for my 1660 Super. Later projects increased TPF almost 100%. I tend to think either something changed in the later runs of the project, or possibly something that changed in Windows 10 OS that caused the...

Re: list of acceptable supported Nvidia cards

To be honest, I think a lot of people are troubleshooting issues that seem to only exist in the beta client. It IS a beta client still, and while it might be fine in most cases, that statistic doesn't help when you are not one of the "most cases". There are some little bugs even in the old...

Re: CPU WU Points Value

Project availability levels move around on a regular basis, regardless of what is going on in the world beyond science. Keep in mind we as folders often have no idea how long any specific project will last, so the number could be fairly but if they run plenty of Gens of each it will take quite a whi...

Re: New GPUs RTX 5000 series

That's pretty darn fast... At most I'll only have a 5080, but I'll wait to see some of those numbers before I pull the trigger. You aren't fooling us. You'll end up with a 5090 in each rig! They are impressive, but just like the last series, it might be hard to find work units that will really push...

Re: CPU WU Points Value

But really, if points don't matter, why is anyone in need of points? CPU folding is just as important, and if points don't matter a person's contribution is still greater, points or not. I see it as similar to a passkey, but at least that makes sense because most people use it, and it gives me (or a...

Re: Assign Email To My Team

I hope you get it figured out, though I'm curious why not having a team ID number posted is a thing. They are on a lot of members signatures, and it's not like they are classified or something.

Re: Project 18251 very low PPD on RTX 2060s

18251 is about 25-28% slower than 12294/12295 on the Arc B570. It receives 45-50% less PPD. Just curious, what OS are you using? I ask because the earlier runs of the project ran at usual speeds for me, but at some point slowed way down and have run slow ever since. Though I didn't find evidence of...

Re: Project 18251 very low PPD on RTX 2060s

If FAH offered non-18251 preference, then every project should have one. That is not possible, and that would definitely lead to cherry picking There is a huge difference between cherry picking and avoiding a project that obviously is creating problems for a fairly wide chunk of hardware. It only t...

Re: Integrated GPU stopped folding

Most likely they're simply isn't any work available for that species of GPU. As average GPU power keeps increasing the researchers can often use more powerful GPUs to accomplish the same work in less time Due to limits in graphics cores often on board integrated gpus or best at folding smaller atom ...

Someone in the discord channel is waiting to pick up a 5090 on the 8th.... So I will assume we will probably hear something at least by the 9th.

You can set timers with the LAR extension for V7. I'm not sure if the V8 version has timers or not, I haven't really checked it out.

Re: 7.6.21 web control points "Loading"

And what does all that have to do with FAH flags? If you pause folding before restarting your PC, FAH will not fold upon restart. Its the way I prefer❤️ I don't get this. You are willing to play around with flags, when there is no reason to do this. With V8, I guess there was, since it usually take...
