Re: GeForce RTX 3080 and 3090 support enabled !

I just noticed my stats for my 2080Ti showing >4m PPD for the past 2 days on extreemeoverclocking. The PPD were 4.5m yesterday, 5m for the entry just added in the past few minutes for today and the core it is running now is estimating 4.7m PPD at over 50% completion. The current work unit is a new 0...

Re: GeForce RTX 3080 and 3090 support enabled !

For the record, my 2080Ti averages 3.5m PPD with very little variation. I'm wondering if anyone understands the FaH cores well enough to be able to answer whether they will see any improvement from Ampere. The key piece of information is that 3080 and 2080Ti actually have the same number of cores un...

Re: Can't upload to 140.163.4.231 again

Just got my GPU back from RMA and it successfully ran the benchmark for several hours so I was psyched to get back to folding and... "(140.163.4.231) Server did not like results, dumping"... :( It looks like there have been problems with the server running out of space, or thinking it did....

Re: RTX 2080Ti clWaitForEvents error (driver issue? Boost 4.

Just an update, the pads arrived yesterday. They were not really the same color and not at all the same consistency as the stock material, but they were enough for me to put it back together and test it out. Same errors with the stock cooler in my older rig, so I boxed it up and dropped it off at Fe...

Re: RTX 2080Ti clWaitForEvents error (driver issue? Boost 4.

The strickness of Nvi6in their RMA process is unknown to me. I usually deal with EVGA support for GPUs as they officially support removing the cooler. Did you tell Nvidia support that you removed the stock cooler? Nvidia themselves will have to remove it to check for pcb damage anyway so it shouldn...

Re: RTX 2080Ti clWaitForEvents error (driver issue? Boost 4.

Update on my problems from the OP. I was able to get some stability as mentioned before by switching drivers, but that only lasted about 10-15 WUs and 3-4 days before going back to CL errors on every task. I then downclocked by 300MHz and that was pretty stable so I started looking into different pa...

Re: RTX 2080Ti clWaitForEvents error (driver issue? Boost 4.

Thanks ipkh for the suggestions, but I'm already past those points. I've already investigated and found answers about stability with reduced boost clocks and I'm looking into potential issues related to power delivery.

Re: RTX 2080Ti clWaitForEvents error (driver issue? Boost 4.

If you set temperature value at X, power at Y, and fan at Z, then the GPU in theory should automatically self regulate itself without any issues and should be 100% stable. My understanding is that is not the case with your GPU. It would seem that I get errors when the GPU overdrives itself, yes. My...

Re: RTX 2080Ti clWaitForEvents error (driver issue? Boost 4.

...Is there a way to see if it is being power starved from looking at MSI Afterburner? The voltage gauge on the main page seems to always read 0mv and I found a power and voltage limit graph that look like they spend a lot of time at 1 (since those are just 0->1, are they binary indicators?)... The...

Re: RTX 2080Ti clWaitForEvents error (driver issue? Boost 4.

I can try reseating them, or at least touching them to see if they feel especially overheated. I'm sorry, I confused you. The purpose for reseating was not to manually check for heat, the purpose is to exercise the connections in an attempt to clear away any material that might be interfering with ...

Re: RTX 2080Ti clWaitForEvents error (driver issue? Boost 4.

Hmm, I only found one user of two of those models failing in two weeks but his post was deleted over on Reddit so I couldn't learn more. Failing to swap in another PSU to test with then the only things that seem to remain are motherboard and GPU. I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help. One last stupi...

Re: RTX 2080Ti clWaitForEvents error (driver issue? Boost 4.

A weak PSU can cause vexing and confusing issues. I would look there. It's a Corsair SF750, 80 PLUS Platinum rated and the UPS indicates that the maximum draw under load with F@H is under 500w including 2 monitors and the Nas that are also plugged into the same UPS. With the computer asleep the dra...

Is Boost technology considered an overclock?

As I wrote up in my thread about my issues with my RTX 2080Ti Founders Edition , RTX cards use a technology called Boost 4.0 which automatically boosts their clocks until they reach either a thermal limit or a power limit. Does this mean that the answer to "is your GPU overclocked" is, by ...

Re: RTX 2080Ti clWaitForEvents error on 445.75/78 (441.87 wo

[Perhaps this is the real culprit here?] Mysteriouser and Mysteriouser... OK, so that stability lasted about 4-5 days performing somewhere between 15-20 WUs flawlessly and then I started getting the dreaded clWaitForEvents errors again. I did the full reinstall a couple of times and the same thing ...
