Re: YSK: Don't attempt to mess around with the settings
I've read on the forum a number of times that it's expected a machine runs 24/7 processing WUs. I've read the FAH project struggles to retain active members after sudden booms of participation, i wonder if this is because many participants in these booms are offering computers they actually use and...

Re: Is the Radeon HD 8450G on Windows 10 supported?
I also suspect that the video card drivers no longer support OpenCL.

Re: Is the Radeon HD 8450G on Windows 10 supported?
Thanks for writing back. I eventually had to manually inject the GPU configuration into the XML, but it did recognize the slot (the Configure button no longer works in FAHControl though, but when was I ever afraid of XML?). So far the GPU has handed back two work units with "No compatible OpenC...

Is the Radeon HD 8450G on Windows 10 supported?
My sister has a Radeon 8450G video card in her laptop on Windows 10. Is that video card supported in 7.6.9, and if so, how would I get it to show up (I've tried adding a slot manually, but it doesn't seem to stick)?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Different folding power for idle/non-idle?
Is there some way to configure one power (CPU/GPU) level for non-idle usage and another power level for idle operations (on the same installation)? I poked around in FAHControl but I didn't see an obvious way to do that?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Sorry, should have put this in the CPU projects forum.

16412 - Hyperlink in description
Obviously this is kind on the low importance side, but probably a quick fix.... For project 16412, the description has a link to a New York Times article: https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2020/04/03/science/coronavirus-genome-bad-news-wrapped-in-protein.html But in the actual HREF part of the lin...

Increasing the number of logs in %appdata%\FAHClient\logs
I recall it being mentioned that the number of logs in %appdata%\FAHClient\logs is 16 by default. Can this number be increased?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Project 13850 - Shorter than expected timeout
Makes sense. I do want to try to beat the timeout so the WU doesn't get needlessly handed out to someone else (I only run with one thread on my laptop so the fan doesn't run too loudly). Thanks!

Project 13850 - Shorter than expected timeout
I noticed when receiving a WU for project 13850 last night that the time from assignment to timeout is one day, whereas CPU projects within a similar amount of base credit would have a period around five days (e.g. 13807 et seq.). I can get the WU done fast enough (the points are irrelevant), but I ...
