Re: Temp disable FAH
Thanks folks. I disabled auto-connect on my network manager so I could reboot without internet connection, then rebooted to recreate the slot. Then added pause-on-start True. Sorted. Pause on start would have been really handy many times in the last couple of months. Think I'll add it to all my othe...

Temp disable FAH
One of my laptops has temporarily got a single core cpu. I've removed all slots until a replacement 2c arrives, but not sure whether a new one will be added when I reboot. Since it's a single core, I presume it wouldn't try to download any wu, but I wanted to make sure. Any advice?

Re: Enormous job: how did I get it, how can I fix it?
>>> If your WU passes Timeout, the Work Server reissues the WU to the next folder. Good to know. If it is going to duplicate the work anyway, it sounds like I should dump the job as soon as I see it is going to run long. (hopefully that will get the job assigned to faster GPU quicker too) So I'll g...

Re: Enormous job: how did I get it, how can I fix it?
I think I can answer most of those questions: Process: If your WU passes Timeout, the Work Server reissues the WU to the next folder. If you complete between Timeout and Expiry, your WU is still uploaded, you still get points, and if your WU is first back, it will still trigger next in series to be ...

Any way to force extra core during a current WU?
One of my laptops shutdown today, and when I rebooted it had lost a core. I've swapped in a different cpu, but the current wu only seems to be using 1 core. This is a core 2 duo which I usually have set to 2 cores in the advanced slot setting, but I think when I rebooted with a single core, FAH defa...

Re: WU 16420 1478 0 35 - what happened to my one?
Then just generation of the next Gen WU would be held up. Thanks Joe, I knew most of that already. As I said, the points part doesn't bother me at all. It's the next gen WU being held up that does. It seems to me that 2 wu out of 70 which have gone to a CS and not then been transferred to the WS fo...

Re: Over 2 exaflops!
By "that list" I meant Donors.txt. The number I was interested in is the number of donors who have folded without a username. I don't think that's available for extraction from any of the stats I've seen. Donors who have registered with a username "AnonymousXXXetc" aren't the one...

I can't locate the actual log file now - only the current one apparent in /var/lib/fahclient, so here is the current one, no changes have been made other than a reboot. *********************** Log Started 2020-05-28T14:53:15Z *********************** 14:53:15:****************************** FAHClient ...

Re: Over 2 exaflops!
You can get the full list yourself and calculate it if you want to: https://foldingathome.org/statistics/ Not sure how I can extract number of Anon users from the Official stats either. Donors.txt was showing 2.4 million individual entries a couple of days ago, but the top one is still the "un...

Re: Over 2 exaflops!
i watch the number of 'active users on EOC, volunteers who have completed at least 1 WU in the last 7 days. In late March, that peaked at 180,000 and is down to 100,000 today. Do you have any numbers relating to "Anonomous" folders? Looking through the EOC stats, they seem to be recorded ...

Re: WU 16420 1478 0 35 - what happened to my one?
That one never turned up in the stats, now 1 month plus on. Had another similar this am. WU completed successfully at approx 1.30am. Multiple fails uploading to WS, then uploaded to CS. Approx 11hrs later reassigned by the WS, soobviously not transferred from CS>WS. Mine yet to show on the stats. Bo...

Re: Work units stall at 99.99% Windows Vista 7.6.13 cx_freez
I'd certainly be backing up everything remotely before proceeding, but I've installed Mint 18.3 as a dual boot Vista/Mint on a couple of laptops without any issues. Find yourself a decent stepby stepguide before trying it, but the std Mint installer worked easily for me. Always worth checking whethe...

Re: updates on linux?
I updated my 3 x 18.3 and 1 x 19.3 Mint laptops just downloading and installing over the top with no problems. That included one 18.3 where I decided to reboot before updating as it had been running for days, not realising that the "Finish" feature pause wouldn't survive the reboot. When I...
