Re: Debian: FAHControl dependencies severely out of date
Um, the client.foldingathome.org installer page might fix, it uses web control instead of fah control. I did not like fighting with FAHControl either, but it works now.

I usually fold a 13870 in about 2.5-3 hours. And it has been known to say 24 or more hours. Just to reassure you.

Re: Question about command "--send-pause"
was what did not pause working on a WU?? --send-pause seems to me to force a send when done and then a pause once sending is finished. It is like telling the web control to fold only when the machine is idle and then doing other things. To fix that I tell web control to fold while I am working using...

Re: Detecting Idle
You might try to use the Web Control. It turns its status ball to orange when the client is paused or idle because it is not getting a WU. Pressing the ball and clicking will cause it to resume folding usually. See: client.foldingathome.org if interested in trying this as a workaround. I could not g...

Re: Not Connecting
I am running a distrro that is part debian buster. Debian buster should have a program called gdebi. look in your software manager,it should list it. install it. next I downloaded fahclient and when I got done loading it Firefox asked me what to do with the file-- I chose to open it with gdebi. gdeb...

Re: Not Connecting
install fahclient-- that is the main workhorse for folding. The instructions say that fahcontrol is optional, and that it is not needed to fold. I had a problem installing the client and used a progam called gdebi to install it., then when I saw it was working I installed fahviewer. if you do not in...

Re: the distro doesnt matter
ok, good, you folks are catching up it looks like. Problem is, gdebi will not install FAHControl on LMDE 4.0 (Debbie) because it says one of the deps packages-- I thiink it was called Python-Gnome2 -- was unavailable. Also, this distro uses Python 2. When someone gets time, can they to fix this?? th...
