Apologies for necroposting. Re: Recent WUs are too large to upload
I wish! Right now, I have 14Mbps down and 444kbps up. But I have to share that with my wife, who does several hours a day of video conferences for her business, and I also need it for my work PC's connection to the office. And this is the fastest I can get from any ISP, at any price.

Re: Recent WUs are too large to upload
Thanks to everyone. I appreciate your engagement and help. The most common reason I pause the folding process is if I have to reboot the PC in order to discard an over-sized WU. My workflow is: cd /var/lib/fahclient/work sudo mv 02 hide-02 # or whichever number it happens to be sudo shutdown -r now ...

Re: Recent WUs are too large to upload
Thanks, Bruce. Unfortunately, the problem has recurred with two slots of ten threads each: 10:03:40:WU04:FS01:Sending unit results: id:04 state:SEND error:NO_ERROR project:17219 run:2652 clone:0 gen:2 core:0xa7 unit:0x00000000000000020000434300000a5c 10:03:40:WU04:FS01:Uploading 83.54MiB to 128.252....

SOLVED: Core 22 crashes at startup
Hi! I'm running Fedora 33 with the RPM Fusion NVIDIA drivers and Cuda libraries. I have an Nvidia GeForce GT1030, which isn't going to set the world alight, but I'd like to share what I have. `clinfo' says that I Cuda 11.2 and OpenCL 1.2 are installed. I've added a GPU slot. I found I had to reboot ...

Re: Recent WUs are too large to upload
25MB in one hour would be achievable, even when there's a video call going on elsewhere in the house. Many thanks for your help, everyone. I appreciate it!

Recent WUs are too large to upload
I have a reasonably powerful PC (12 Threadripper cores, 24 threads), but a pitifully slow Internet connection that I can't upgrade because of my location. A couple of recent WUs have produced 70MB or 90MB of results. I get most of the way through an upload, and then the server times out after an hou...

Re: Fedora 31, Nvidia GT 1030: clGetDeviceIDs() returned -1
Thanks, katakaio, but I've been burnt that way once before. I tried installing Nvidia's drivers by following the instructions on a site called If Not True Then False. The instructions had me uninstall Nouveau and then reboot, and then I found that the Nvidia drivers wouldn't build on my system, and ...

Re: Fedora 31, Nvidia GT 1030: clGetDeviceIDs() returned -1
Hi, katakaio,
When I google `nvidia-opencl-dev', I find a package for Debian-based distros, but I'm running Fedora. Fedora has no package of that name that I can find.
Thanks,
Markus

Re: Fedora 31, Nvidia GT 1030: clGetDeviceIDs() returned -1
Hi, Bruce. You're right -- Nouveau, the open source driver that ships with Fedora, doesn't support OpenCL. I reluctantly installed Nvidia's proprietary drivers from RPM Fusion last year, because I found Noveau too unstable with dual monitors, and I'm currently running version 440.64. The clinfo tran...

Re: Fedora 31, Nvidia GT 1030: clGetDeviceIDs() returned -1
Hi, Joe. -lspci with a single dash produced an error message: 16:52:23:ERROR:Exception: Invalid argument '-lspci' 16:52:23:ERROR:Caused by: Option '-lspci' does not exist. `sudo FAHClient --lspci', with two dashes and a `sudo' produced the same output as it does without `sudo', and ended by segfault...

Re: Fedora 31, Nvidia GT 1030: clGetDeviceIDs() returned -1
About the device ID -- I have this: [msl@localhost ~]$ lspci | grep -i vga 41:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GP108 [GeForce GT 1030] (rev a1) [msl@localhost ~]$ I'm well outside my area of expertise. Is that string "GP108 [GeForce GT 1030]" the device ID you have in min...

Re: Fedora 31, Nvidia GT 1030: clGetDeviceIDs() returned -1
It's already there, thanks, and it mentions my graphics card: [msl@localhost ~]$ grep 1030 /var/lib/fahclient/GPUs.txt 0x10de:0x1d01:2:5:GP108 [GeForce GT 1030] 0x10de:0x1d12:2:5:GP108 [GeForce MX150 (GT 1030) Max-Q] [msl@localhost ~]$ What else should I try? Do need to do something about the errors...
