Re: (Solved) GPU disabled
Never mind about the re-enabling, I checked the log and noticed that my cuda.dll had been removed (I had Microsoft support do unspeakable things to this PC). After reinstalling the AMD drivers FAHClient found the GPU again and it's now folding. I am still curious about how FAHClient's startup mechan...

Re: GPU disabled
... So the sequence is: PC restart ---> account login ---> FAHClient starts (auto or manually) ---> GPUs.txt downloaded or updated once a month ---> start folding (auto or manually. You are looking for the internet connection to be established before FAHClient is started. This did not fix it for me...

Re: 0x22 work unit never starts, stays at 0% on Windows
Now that you have mentioned MS's Remote Desktop, that may be where the problem exists. Remote Desktop has always been a problem with F@h, it takes over the graphics device while you are connected. People have found that using other methods of remotely connecting such as Teamviewer or VNC based conn...

Re: 0x22 work unit never starts, stays at 0% on Windows
I have a theory that might fit these two symptoms: 1) You have two GPUs; iGPU and dGPU 2) Issue happens after you unpause the GPU Slot When you reboot your system, the dGPU is active and F@H is looking at the right GPU and folding works fine. When you pause the GPU Slot, the dGPU waits for a while ...

Re: 0x22 work unit never starts, stays at 0% on Windows
1) Windows updates the drivers whenever they feel like it. When they do, they have a habit of removing "unnecessary" features tht they didn't install ... most prominently things like CUDA and OpenCL, which FAH needs. That might have happened to you. 2) Support for those packages depends o...

Re: 0x22 work unit never starts, stays at 0% on Windows
32bit OS issue? Shouldn't be that, the OS shows up as 64-bit in the log: 16:06:49: Win32 Service: false 16:06:49: OS: Windows 10 Enterprise 16:06:49: OS Arch: AMD64 The client is detecting two GPUs as OpenCL devices, I am assuming one is the iGPU on the i7-3820: 16:06:49:OpenCL Device 0: Platform:0...

This has always been a 64 bit OS, so I doubt it.Neil-B wrote:32bit OS issue?

Re: 0x22 work unit never starts, stays at 0% on Windows
Can you please post the first 100 lines which will inform us of what the system configuration is and what the client settings are. Also, was there any Windows update or Driver update done around the time this issue started happening? What happens after you reboot your system; does it magically star...

0x22 work unit never starts, stays at 0% on Windows
As of last week, my AMD R9 GPU stalls when starting new packages after sending finished work units back. The last message in the log is "Configuring platform OpenCL" but then nothing happens until I restart the PC. Has anybody seen this before? Is there something I can do to fix this? 22:4...

I'm only a sysadmin, not a programmer, but I can see where that would complicate things
But thanks, I know much more now!

Re: Project 8690 bad WU
Thanks Bruce, Joe, Maybe this behavior for certain WUs can be added to a "known problems on Linux clients" page? I'm not sure what kind of development is still going on, but it seems that the logic to drop a WU in favor of another one after a certain number of failures doesn't work. From w...

Re: Project 8690 bad WU
Thanks Bruce, My hardware is fine and the WU is fine as well. The problem is that the Linux 0xa4 core binary can't and won't run when the kernel is not booted with vsyscall support. For the past three years, Debian kernels (and perhaps others, too) by default have support for vsyscall disabled at bo...

Re: Project 8690 bad WU
I found the cause of the problem: https://einsteinathome.org/content/vsys ... ux-distros
When I load the kernel using 'vsyscall=emulate' on the command line, there are no interrupts.
