Re: App won’t launch after restarting PC
The problem seems to be that v8.3 Folding@Home needs administrator privileges to even start. I've given admin privileges to my F@H shortcuts and it starts fine now.

Re: FAH won't run, won't connect
I had the same problem, and found that I needed to start Folding@Home as an admin. I've updated the start menu shortcut to always run as administrator. Hideconsole was missing from start-up, so I pasted a shortcut in the Start-up folder and gave it admin privileges. I've yet to restart my PC, though.

Unlikely to finish a WU for 12413
Hello all, Earlier today, I got a WU with a 5 day expiration. After letting it get to 3% it had an ETA of just over 2 days. Now, that feels a bit steep to me. I'm not someone who folds 24/7, I usually fold for about 7-8 hours a day when I'm home or 3-4 if I'm out for most of the day. After letting a...

Re: Below expected performance
Thank you for both of your responses.
I'm aware that my GPU is underpowered. I don't have any GPU slots for that reason. I suppose there must be something somewhere else in configuration that's causing the issue with auto allocation, but I'm happy to manually set my thread count.

Re: Below expected performance
Thanks for your reply. Before I posted, I had started at least one WU with 7 threads selected, and it still was folding with 3 threads. I resumed again this morning with threads manually set to 6. It continued to fold with just 3, but I noticed the following in the log. 21:29:37:WARNING:WU00:FS00:AS...

Below expected performance
I've been regularly folding for almost 5 years now, and thought it was about time to upgrade to the latest client. But after installation, I noticed that the thread count was different to how it used to be. I'm folding with a i7 that's hyperthreaded to 8 cores. I have my folding power set to light, ...

Re: Error uploading one workunit
Thanks. I've just spent the past hour examining my settings and other things, and come to the same conclusion. I'm glad you've confirmed it for me. Looks like I need to solve things on my own, because I don't think you can really help me with my specific problem. Just to confirm, though, I found tha...

Re: Error uploading one workunit
The only other active security feature that I have is Windows Firewall. The rest are passive. I have rules that allow fahclient.exe access to all ports anyway. I've been observing the work and collection server IPs through NetLimiter and my router's Connections page. Netlimiter shows fahclient.exe a...

Re: Error uploading one workunit
The ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT is because 1) You entered the IP address using the default port 80 rather than adding the suffix for port 8080 http://155.247.166.220:8080/ should work unless you are using a proxy. 2) Ordinarily either port would work since the server(s) are supposed to redirect Port 8...

Re: Error uploading one workunit
Welcome to the folding support forum. One first step at diagnosing this would be to see if you can open the WS address in a browser - http://155.247.166.220:8080 and http://155.247.166.220:80. Do the same for 155.247.166.219 and report the results. Hi and thank you. I visited all of those IP addres...

Error uploading one workunit
I've had one work unit stuck unable to upload for almost two weeks now. I've been able to upload other work units since this one got stuck, but this one remains. It possibly got stuck because the router that I use was factory reset between the start and end of the work unit. Here's a copy of the log...
