Re: FAH sees cryptocurrency as 3rd party app enhancing commu
You get rewarded in tokens based on the points you fold. These tokens can be exchanged for bitcoin which in turn can be sold for cash if you wish. Currently the payouts and exchange rates are such that it doesn't quite pay for electricity for most people, as far as I can tell if you fold with less t...

Be sure and read https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Folding@home
I think it's a pretty good description.

Re: FEATURE REQUEST
FAMAS, it is annoying that this feature hasn't been implemented. LOL maybe if requests could be voted on to increase their visibility. I know, not in this universe but I did hear something about a squeaky wheel. You probably know this already but if the WU has finished set the FS to paused before yo...

The best support for fldc and cure is discordapp.com FoldingCoin and CureCoin channels. You won't get any support for that here.

Re: Folding on Threadripper
Consider upgrading to a bigger/better cpu cooler. When I first started folding and my pc started crashing it was the cpu overheating.

Re: Help with scripting a pause/resume toggle in Ubuntu
The issue was doing it with a script or from the command line since he wanted to do it with a hot key.bruce wrote:In FAHControl, righ-click on one of the Slots.

Re: Overclocking a GTX1070
I went through an over clocking phase (Linux). Once I stopped doing it my folding problems were reduced by 95%.

Thanks bruce for the update. As long as there is proverbial light at the end of the proverbial tunnel (that's not just an oncoming train).

Re: Stats Server Down
Keeping the stats servers updated has a pretty low priority and there's no reason to expect that to change. It's just lucky that Monday's not a holiday. Just keep on folding!

Re: Bad work units.
Just thought I'd mention that all my gpus are 1080 and 1080TI except for one lonely 960 (iirc), including the TI that won't fold, spread over 4 pcs with 2 (including the one that won't fold now mining ETH),5,4, and 5 gpus respectively all running Linux Mint. The bad gpu was tried in multiple slots o...

Re: Which GPU?
gpu not found usually means you don't have the GPUs.txt file or it's not up to date and you have a gpu too new to be in your version. to get that, in advanced control go into configure/expert and add gpu = true or change from false to true then reboot. updating inactive for a long time means the fol...

Re: Bad work units.
It is also possible that you have a bad gpu. I'm successfully folding on 15 GPUs of different manufacturers but also have one that does nothing but create bad work units, over and over as you describe. Good luck if that's it. I sent my bad one in twice to Gigabyte and both times they said there was ...

Re: Help with scripting a pause/resume toggle in Ubuntu
I couldn't figure out how to set just one gpu to "on idle" Everything I tried was all gpus or none. Pause, on the other hand, let me do that.
