Re: Nvidia Titan V

I am now running project 11432 on a Titan XP, and it is getting 1,382,701 PPD. This is a rare event. Most other project yield 780K PPD. I would be interested in the Titan V if it could reliably get the high performance running projects. I can't justify adding more machines to my wife. I told the sec...

There is no point in deleting the WU. You get some credit when it finally uploads.

I had my concerns from his absence. R.I.P. Tim, your kindness is how you will be remembered.

Re: The computer race. [URL]

Here is an article on quantum computers that I found interesting. I don't think they will be folding anytime soon.

Re: WU's Not Being Assigned by 171.67.108.102/171.67.108.105

noob_for_life, Do you have 7 threads for your CPU that you are trying to fold in slot 00? If so, it is hard to get assignments that work with primes larger than 5. If this is your issue, you can try the 7.4.16 client that will automatically reduce the slot setting for work units that are available, ...

Re: Coping with Wind

QuintLeo, I appreciate your post. Yes, most people here use evaporative coolers. The house I bought has central heat with no cooling. We run fans at night in the windows. We browse the web with one machine. The other could be moved. It is just a dedicated folder. I told my wife that it is the spare ...

Re: Coping with Wind

My next machine will probably be Linux. I am sure that I will have many stupid questions at that time. But first, I will need air conditioning!

Re: 381.65 Drivers

I was using 381.65, but it was giving me the topography message in my logs. I updated to 381.89, and haven't seen it since.

Re: Project 10496 (158,16,66)

Bruce, I find this project PPD is normal with Maxwell, but low with Pascal GTX1080. Project ID: 10496 Titan XP, Win 8.1, PCI 3.0 x16 Number of Frames Observed: 300 Min. Time / Frame : 00:01:26 - 1,062,448.2 PPD Avg. Time / Frame : 00:01:36 - 900,842.2 PPD <= This is actually higher than 800k average...

Re: Error

I had this problem when I first started folding in windows. A reboot would fix it for a time, then it would re-occur. After time, I no longer needed to reboot. I believe that another program fools the operating system to lock the file.

Re: Nvidia Titan Xp

On Friday, April 28, 2017, I added a 6-8 pin short extension to free-up a 6 pin connector. I saw no change in the XP performance. Saturday, April 29, 2017, I added back the GTX980SC to my second slot. The clocks on the XP and the 980 dropped, but would run with stability. The XP would change its clo...
