config.xml setting for COVID-19
Stupid question, but I run the client on linux headless and need to edit config.xml to configure. What is the new option to prioritize COVID-19 projects?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Rack-Mount 8-GPU Dedicated Folding Rig
This is going to be very expensive and noisy ... :( You can't mount gaming GeForce in such case. You'll probably need very expensive Quadro or Tesla ... For instance, nothing like these will fit : https://fr.msi.com/Graphics-card/GeForc ... VENTUS-11G https://fr.msi.com/Graphics-card/GeForc ... UKE...

Re: Own hardware vs. cloud computing
So you didn't use docker? Okay, I guess I'll try it out after they figure out the overload. No use renting machines if they'll just idle It does use docker. But you can start from the base image nvidia/opencl:... which is already setup as a normal linux system with nvidia drivers, and just SSH in t...

Re: OS choice
Regarding linux and Nvidia, I'm wondering if anyone else has come across this problem before: I found that my GPU was working at only around 125-140W (GPU is Titan V with nominal TDP of 250W) and clock speed of only 1350MHz. I have to run nvidia-smi -cc 1 at startup to allow FAH to get the higher c...

Re: F@H Computational Horsepower Quadruples due to COVID-19
There is a need for both SP and DP floating point in fah tasks. GPUs without FP64 aren't usable in fah anymore. But as a cost/benefit calculation Quadro cards don't make sense. You can get a multitude if RTX cards for the same price and collectively outperform it. ECC ram isn't neccessary for most ...

Re: F@H vs BOINC & Rosetta@home ; using GPU
Just to chime in - I've been wondering abour running BOINC and F@H at the same time. I'm sure there will be a heavy load on the system but I'm OK with that during idle time. I just don't want them choking one another for resources. It would be ideal if there were collaboration between the apps so t...

Re: F@H Computational Horsepower Quadruples due to COVID-19
Nice blog. Could you make a post about any of Nvidia Quadro GPUs? I’ve heard that Quadro is almost twice more efficient in double-precision ( FP64 ) calculations than non-Quadro equivalent. FP64 is what you need for Folding. It’s very interesting. Most of F@H is still single-precision, and note tha...

Re: Nvidia Titan V
For installing the Nvidia driver on ubuntu, just do $ sudo apt install nvidia-384 For FAH, download the client package and install it. Instructions here: http://folding.stanford.edu/support/faq/installation-guides/linux/manual-installation-advanced/ . It should start running automatically, I've had ...

Re: Unable To Fold With NVIDIA GPU'S
Hi, I still had the same issue -- client was downloading 0-length GPUS.txt, as of ~5-10 minutes ago. I finally manually downloaded it and saved it in the client directory to start working.

Re: Any idea how many Core 16's are left?
I have dual 295x2's and my computer runs core x16 units successfully (driver 14.7RC3). However PPD is insanely low -- the GPUs working on those units essentially generate no points (<5k PPD vs 220-260k PPD on core 0x17 units). TPF is about 5m45s.
