Re: 7im
I'll certainly miss him. He was the kind of guy that had a supernatural ability to cut to the core of a question without wasting many words. Sometimes it came across as a bit tough, but over time I realized the wisdom of his answers and appreciated the clarity he provided. He passed at such a young ...

Re: Failed to get assignment - No WUs available
Nate, thanks for taking the time to update everyone and for the fix. I've been getting WUs for the past few hours, although uploads and downloads are slower than normal, at least they're getting through.

Re: FAH on ubuntu 17.04
Thanks bollix47 - to the point of LTS, would you suggest using version 16.04 instead?

Re: FAH on ubuntu 17.04
bruce & SteveWillis, thanks for the assistance. I'll give it a try tonight. If an FAHClient install was done first without installing the python dependencies, will the existing install work once python is added? I attempted an uninstall of FAHClient, but now run into errors when running a Ubuntu...

Re: FAH on ubuntu 17.04
I'm working to move some systems from Win x64 to Ubuntu 17.04 and I'm running into issues getting it installed. Admittedly, I'm not a Linux guru, but I'm also sure I'm not unique in that regard. Is there a definitive Ubuntu 17.04 installation procedure, or is an update to the documentation and depen...

Re: What do we do with our points?
I donate 100% of my CureCoin earnings to several charities, which the CureCoin administrators are kind enough to manage for me. It's starting to be a meaningful number - I think it was several hundred $ last quarter.

Re: WU's Not Being Assigned by 171.67.108.102/171.67.108.105
@rwh202 I can confirm that changing the cause preference to Huntington's does avoid the problematic work server/assignment server. All slots are finally operational. Changing this value got 14 slots that were in "ready" mode to get a work unit and start processing. The procedure is to paus...

Re: WU's Not Being Assigned by 171.67.108.102/171.67.108.105
@Adam A. Wanderer 41 GPU folding slots plus 1 Intel Phi 7210 (256 CPUs) delivers between 34 and 35 million points per day when there are no issues. The last two days have been between 40% and 75% of the normal total, and only that high because I've had to stay on top of pausing/unpausing slots every...

Re: WU's Not Being Assigned by 171.67.108.102/171.67.108.105
@foldy, thank you for the workaround. I think I'll keep this rule in place even after the server issue is fixed. Why? Because if the researcher(s) who own the project(s) on this server can't be bothered to fix the issue on a weekend, then all of my 41 slots of high-performance GPUs will go to other ...

Re: GPU cannot get work
It looks like the server 171.67.108.105 needs a reboot/restart -- or hopefully nothing more drastic -- to get it running again. Anyone awake in CA yet to get a handle on this problem? I was on-track to achieve slightly over 1 billion points this month, but if this doesn't get fixed it ain't happening.

Re: GPU cannot get work
Not getting GPU work units on several of my systems. Occurring at two different physical locations using three different internet providers. Rebooted all affected systems and still not getting work units. Below is typical of the error: 03:25:09:WU00:FS02:Requesting new work unit for slot 02: READY g...

Re: fresh windows 10 installation
Is it correct to assume the hardware is identical and you have ONLY changed from Windows 7 to Windows 10? If that's true, do a standard install of FAH with all the default settings. You'll then have logs to allow analyzing the problem(s) further. If you want to strip out what you consider to be unne...

When the CPU slot option is set to "-1", how many CPUs does your machine report?

Re: Contacting Folding@Home staff for Research Project?
Hi Kimba659, welcome to the forum. Have you been able to find someone to talk to on the Pande team yet? I didn't see any responses to your post here, so thinking you found another way to start your primary research interviews?
