Re: Crimson Drivers bugged?> Overheating killing Graphics Ca
Hi people, Interesting to hear you've had some overheating problems too; thanks for the rapid feedback! I suggest we all check GPU temps and fan speeds under load (i.e. when folding) if using Crimson drivers. My card initially kept artefacting and then the computer crashed. Now I have one bur...

Crimson Drivers bugged?> Overheating killing Graphics Cards
I think my experience may be important to share with the FAH community. I would value other users reports for confirmation of the Crimson driver GPU overheating issue, and I hope this helps other FAH enthusiasts: I am a loyal AMD supporter, but there appears to be a bug in some of the new Crimson dr...

Re: FahCore returned: CORE_OUTDATED (110 = 0x6e)[/code]
@ bruce Wow that was a quick reply! No, newer core not downloading. First page not available I'm afraid, as I'm logged in via remote access and don't get the first page of the log (log too long?). I'll try to get the log off the computer with the problem directly tomorrow, and post it here No proxy ...

Re: Catalyst 14.12 Omega & 7970
Thanks for the thread @DarkFoss I was also interested / excited to see what effect Catalyst 14.12 Omega would have on folding PPD. I measured perfomance using FahBench 14.9 : 26 ns/day (explicit), 76 ns/day (implicit) 14.12 : 16 ns/day (explicit), 51 ns/day (implicit) So sadly quite BIG drop in fold...

Re: Any idea how many Core 16's are left?
My rig has also settled down, with no crashes or faulty WU's etc. Twin R2 290x's only receiving core 0x17 now and all running smoothly (touch wood)... phew no more core 0x16's. In my humble opinion, the settings on AS seem to be much better. Thanks Vijay.

Re: Any idea how many Core 16's are left?
@ ChasingTheDream I agree that when using the newest AMD 14.9 drivers on Core 16 WU the completion speed is very slow.... and I'm still getting Core 16 WU's today on my R9 290X's. However that brings us back to your original question: why are we 'suddenly' getting more Core 16 WU's on high end AMD s...

See similar conversation at foldingforum thread: https://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=26807&start=15 We're not alone! @ EXT64 Thanks for the Linux tip! Can you suggest a distro please. I understand that 'folding on AMD GPUs with Linux is problematic' as per Stanford guide. Is that c...

Re: Any idea how many Core 16's are left?
@ ChasingTheDream Sorry to hear your news. I know the feeling! I've spent a lot of money and time getting my systems up and running and maintaining them. I mean we are chucking some of the best (home) hardware at this... I think FAH is a very worthy cause, but there also has to be a limit. My...

Re: Any idea how many Core 16's are left?
Thanks for the interesting thread. @ ChasingTheDream: Have you tried the latest 14.9 AMD drivers , which came out two days ago on 9/29/2014 ? I have / had the exact same problem, with constant crashes or 'lost' runs when running FAHcore 0x16 (where did they appear from?) on my system with dual ident...

Re: Can I change my F@H username but keep my points?
Thanks @bruce, Great answer, and thanks for the info. Don't discount the query by passkey. You can only do that on the official Stanford points page, but if you've earned X points under name1, you can go on to earn Y points under name2. It will add the two together... A while ago I was folding under...
