Re: Change in BA requirements
What would be the sense of keeping it at 24 cores and then tighten the return time so they don't make it? I think they will make the slowest ones just make it and tweek the QRB for BA and SMP. That would make sense. That's a good point, even these 16 core processors are still <3ghz. 24 good cores a...

Re: Change in BA requirements
Ill keep my 4p 24 core running until the deadline next year! and maybe beyond! If your intent is to keep running BA that may be a problem. With the 5/01/2014 core count change there will also be a deadline change for the WU per Dr. Pande's post. 1) The posted change in BA requirements will be revis...

Re: Change in BA requirements
This is a good move on the part of Pande.... maybe they can rig up a system that still gives a similar bonus to the big folders who can complete units quite fast.... it would be a shame to lose all those machines!! Ill keep my 4p 24 core running until the deadline next year! and maybe beyond! fold on!

Re: Change in BA requirements
Just curious as to why PG would even use a poll that would not help the work get done any more than the current system does. I think running polls, even on this forum, would give people, if not true input, the illusion of having some say in the project, and it would be a super easy way for the powe...

Re: Change in BA requirements
We understand that donors may decide to redirect their priorities. We are thankful for all donations that people have made in the past. On a separate note, there has been a fair amount of discussion about ways to make the points system (and large work units) more consistent and predictable for dono...

Re: Change in BA requirements
Personally, while I don't like the raise of cores, as my recent 4p will be knocked out just as it got running, I just took a look at kakao active folding numbers, and its at 32k. Now I'm no expert, and I don't pretend to really know what I'm talking about in regards to this, but it seems as if the n...

Re: Change in BA requirements
Any word from pg so far? I would expect NO word in addition to the already promulgated news. Silence here is considered golden and a way to marginalize the masses of angry folders. Eventually we will forget and move on. They hope. 7im.... A more detailed roadmap... extending the date of these raise...

Re: Change in BA requirements
on a non emotional note..... I think PG has forgotten that this cost people real money to do. electricity doesnt come cheap. The BigADV thing encourages people to go out of their way to get better machines specifically for folding. NOT to just use their everyday parts. most people cant afford a nice...
