Re: HOWTO: Allow v8 Client Remote Control
For the sake of saving some typing, you don't have to "sudo touch<filename>" the config file in Linux. sudo nano<filename> will create the file and open it for you.

Re: [Fixed] No available GPUs
I would suggest going into the slot config on the FAH monitor, edit the GPU slot and set the opencl index to 0. I've had to do that once or twice.

Re: Plotting Overall Folding System Efficiency
While I have no idea what each of my 2070's are pulling power wise, they're not using 220W. All 3 of them are in one rig and total power draw according to my UPS is sitting around 650W. Not bad for 3.3M PPD.

Re: FAH won't see second GPU card
Glad to hear you got it working. I would imagine that for some reason the first 2 re-installs failed to remove config files. I guess it matters not as you are now folding on both cards

Re: [Fixed] No available GPUs
Yes, 755 will allow the file to be ready and executed by anybody, but only written by the user that owns it or root (who can do anything). So gedit won't let you save? the i'd just use nano. it's a command line tool that will let you edit that file. In case you are unfamiliar with how to use it to s...

Re: [Fixed] No available GPUs
chmod 777 is a security breach waiting to happen. Yes, the file needs changed. If your're on a desktop system try sudo gedit /etc/fahclient/config.xml and change it that way. If you're on a command line only system (or simply prefer the command line) then sudo nano or vi and change it that way, but ...

Re: 1 core per GPU still holds true?
I agree ProDigit. Up front cost is the thing here. If you have the up-front capital, the i'd highly recommend 2080ti's all day long. They are the most efficient cards out there in terms of PPD/Watt according to https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1v5gXral3BcFOoXs5n1M6l_Uo3pZpQYogn6gVlxRPnz0/edit#...

Re: Multi-GPU PPD drop
My newst folding rig has 3 RTX2070's on an old Asuss P6T motherboard (PCIE2.0 in 16/16/4mode) and all 3 cards are pushing the 1.1M PPD generally seen in said card so no, i'm seeing no drop-off for multiple GPU's. Running Windows or Linux? That matters. In any case, there is a long topic that discus...

Re: Ubuntu 18.04 No available GPUs
Did you install the Nvidia drivers under the "additional drivers" in Ubuntu? Also, you may have to manually set the GPU.txt file. I had to do that on 1 of my 3 Ubuntu folders, all folding with various Nviida cards.

Re: AMD RX Vega
I seem to be a bit late to this party, but I have had a pair of Vega64's folding for a couple weeks now. They seem to average 450-600kPPD.
