Re: Failed to read stream

I still say it's your anti-spyware software. Your router doesn't have any idea which program is attempting to make an internet connection but local software can tell. Apparently you can open http://web.stanford.edu/~pande/Win32/AM ... ore_17.fah and http://web.stanford.edu/~pande/Win32/AM ... ore_1...

Re: Failed to read stream

Swapped cables . . . . no help.

Pulled the plug from one computer which was folding and plugged it into the one that was failing. And vice versa. No change.

Re: Failed to read stream

OK! Got a new motherboard (Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming GT), new SSD (256GB), fresh install of Windows 7 Prof 64-bit, Windows updates, 4GB RAM, NO anti-virus, NO firewall. Fresh install of F@H 7.3.6. Still can not get the GTX 970 or the CPU (i7 4770K) to fold. No overclocking. The following log is where ...

Re: Failed to read stream

Have you looked at the serverstat page ? If the Connect column says Accepting it should be working both in your browser and by way of FAHClient. If it DOESN'T say Accepting, either (1) you should be able to fold without using that server or (B) somebody has to fix something. Four of my GPUs have 17...

Re: Failed to read stream

I doubt it is a power issue. I have SeaSonic X-1250 1250W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready 80 PLUS GOLD PSU. Not a heat issue, water cooled. Why would BIOS settings need a change after over a year folding on the computer? This is what I can't understand. I have changed nothing on a computer (with two Nvidi...

Re: Failed to read stream

Many popular firewall programs (including Norton) provide the ability to block an "unknown" program from connecting to the internet. If you can open http://web.stanford.edu/~pande/Win32/AM ... ore_17.fah from your browser but FAHClient cannot open that same connection, Norton has recogniz...

Failed to read stream

I have had this problem for the last week on two computers. Computer one i7 4770K runs Windows 7 Prof 64-bit, two Nvidia GTX 780 GPUs. Computer two i7 860 runs Windows 7 Prof 64-bit, one Nvidia GTX 970 GPU. The following log is from computer two. I have uninstalled, and re-installed many times. I ha...

Re: Project description page - internal error

Farwalker, there have been some recent problems at Stanford with any links that included folding.stanford.edu and fah-web.stanford.edu . As you can see in the post above yours the problem is being worked on and hopefully will resume normal operations soon. If you continue to have problems reaching ...

For the last three days I have been unable to use the Folding web client. I always get the following: http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/bb197/farwalker/connectionreset_zps27db26c2.jpg While perusing these forums looking for some solution, I found that I am also unable to connect to this address: ht...

Re: R9 280X stuck at 99.99%

It seems the problem was that my GPUs can fold in overclocked mode, but cannot properly communicate with the folding server through my client (or something like that). I just set my R9 280X's to default and they work at a core speed of 1100MHz. For about two weeks they worked at an overclock speed o...

R9 280X stuck at 99.99%

I have two computers running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit and each has an AMD R9 280X (even though it says 7970) folding in it. I am running version 7.3.6. Each computer is stuck at 99.99% on the GPU. This started a few days ago. Before this they had been running smoothly yielding about 110,000PPD ...

Re: Problem with R9 280X

I tried the R9 280X card in another computer with Windows 7 Professional 64-bit and it works.

May be an issue with Windows XP Home.

Problem with R9 280X

I just installed a Gigabyte R9 280X. Running Windows XP Home w/ SP3. It fails to run any WUs. I was running a nVidia 650Ti Boost which I removed, uninstalled drivers. Installed the new R9 280X card and installed the driver which came with the 280X. I have tried three different AMD drivers. I have re...
