FAHControl+: Automatically pause when an app runs
I apologize if this was posted here before. I searched but couldn't find a post. Over the last couple years, I've seen a few references to this and gotten a few messages about improving it. Since I'm fresh in this project again, I figured I'd make sure it was known about. A couple years ago, I wante...

Re: Different folding power for idle/non-idle?
Howdy, reviving an old thread here. For example, if your CPU/GPU was under 10% (excluding FAHClient usage) to use Full and when it goes above 50% to drop to Medium. Does that sound right? If so, I could probably make that happen (but that seems like an improvement for the FAHClient team to implement...

Re: Struggling to fold on my Vega 56
Since you've already tried more than one OpcnCL driver, found it wanting, and removed it, there's one more thing you can try. Go to http://www.khronos.org and download their OpenCL drivers. That might work. In either case, report back. Don't supposed you have any tips on this? I'm stuck after build...

Re: Struggling to fold on my Vega 56
True, but it's clearly possible. I would assume if you can get AMD and NVIDIA to work together, it shouldn't really matter which model you were using. I guess I'll find out tho. If I do get it to work, I'll write up my steps. Should be pinned somewhere. Mixing AMD and NV cards in the same machine is...

Re: Testing Folding Without Wasting a WU
The reason I ask is because I see frequently other members concerned about faulty hardware. The concern is that you're wasting WUs. Obviously, there's different types of failure, but one can only know if their setup is working by trying to fold. So FAHBench is the solution? My issue is I somewhat fr...

Testing Folding Without Wasting a WU
I'm dealing with a separate issue here and it got me thinking: I'd like to know my folding configuration is correct before requesting WUs. Is it possible, at any level, to test a WU? Perhaps keep one of each WU that works on each core type, not one you actually submit and one that's small enough to ...

Re: Struggling to fold on my Vega 56
Thanks. I'll try that. If I can't get this working eventually, I'm just going to ditch the card in favor for another NVIDIA. No reason to torture myself.

Re: Struggling to fold on my Vega 56
Originally when I configured my NVIDIA GPUs, I installed ocl-icd-opencl-dev and nvidia-driver-390 . I figured I already had OpenCL as it's the multi-vendor package. I then tried to install mesa-opencl-icd . After a reboot, it caused all my slots to act like my Vega. However, it only says No compute ...

Struggling to fold on my Vega 56
Edit: Cross-post here: https://askubuntu.com/questions/1167968/amd-nvidia-gpu-driver-configuration Followed this for my Ubuntu 18.04 x64 headless (no GUI/desktop packages) build: https://gpuopen.com/vega-frontier-insta ... he-driver/ Added slot via telnet, "slot-add gpu". (I don't have acc...

Re: Telnet client question
I think I got enough info to determine Telnet is my best interface for now. Thanks for the input.

Re: Telnet client question
Is there not documentation on FAHClient's telnet interface? As Bruce mentioned, pretty much what documentation is available is found through the Help command. You might also want to look at the output from using fahclient --help at a command line. I thought he was referring to the help command whil...

Re: Telnet client question
Perhaps "bond" isn't a documented command anywhere, but simply a verb meaning "connect to" If Telnet is working for you, why do you feel you need a telnet debug capability? Because, I'm looking for a "send to syslog" capability, and I thought this bond command may have...

Re: Telnet client question
I think I might be getting somewhere, but this debug feature may not be what I think it is. Regardless, through the readme, I discovered: https://github.com/CauldronDevelopmentL ... requisites Noticed the word "cbang", same results when I was getting strings from the EXE. Part of the sourc...

Re: Telnet client question
My question isn't how to telnet into FAHClient, I'm already there. I noticed from the help command about "bond" and something about that it sends debug information. It asks for an IP and port, so I assume it sends data via TCP/UDP to a server that listens. I just picked 36331 as an example...
