Okay, also my bad, card was o/c to 1200 in Catalyst Control Center, it's now at 950, power supply is digital switching 1200 watt. Temp is 59c. So these last 2 weren't problems.

Re: Newbie: Progress stays at 0.00% for GPU
I'm new at this also but either in Web Control or advanced you have to set the power bar to "Full" to get the GPU to work. Also I would suggest (from my experience) that you free up one core for AMD GPU's and depending on the Nvidia card 1 or 2. Let testing be your guide. Also stop the pro...

I did shut down the computer for some maintenance though now that I think about it. *********************** L...

Having failed errors on 8900 projects.
Right now I have one 8900 that is running in Slot 1 at 7.5%. I went and did a days worth of SETI for an upcoming race in a month and now am back doing FAH. I was running on 1 660 Ti because of heat and now installed a window air conditioner and started up the other card again. The fails started as b...

Re: New: Need confirmation How to run multiple threads on a
I know that some projects the manipulation cannot be converted over to GPU and it's beyond me at this point in time. But Help Conquer Cancer was a 6 year project with a lot of mechanical groundwork done by high speed robotic automation creating 300 million samples that were then put through x-ray. I...

Re: New: Need confirmation How to run multiple threads on a
AVX1 has been in use other DC projects and as I recall the gain was 20 percent. From 128 bit register to 256 bit register was one big change at the time and the ability to to do the math equation c=a+b saving both registers instead of a=a+b. Test info in some real world tasks. http://www.sisoftware....

Re: New: Need confirmation How to run multiple threads on a
For people reading this the web link has to include the www for http://www.gromacs.org or it doesn't work. http://www.gromacs.org I believe AVX origionally released in Q1 2011 and then Q3 2011 AMD was a 20% boost. But development of GPU sorta places cpu on a back burner of code development since it ...
