Re: FAHControl and Fedora31

Hi, I just setup a GTX 1070 system on Fedora 31 with NVIDIA driver 440.64 and it's working fine. Your 2nd error looks to simply be that the client selected the wrong GPU. Your log shows that GPU 0 is the GTX 1070, so edit /etc/fahclient/config.xml and look for the GPU slot and change the index to 0....

After the big W10 update trashed OpenCL, I switched to 372.90, and that's been stable on both a 970 and a 1070 in W10.

Re: Project 9430

@coredump4: I would suggest you update your Nvidia drivers to the latest version (or at least 349.12). My understanding is that this patch was made fairly recently and reliant upon the latest driver version at that time. I'm not currently having any difficulty with these WUs and my current Nvidia d...

Re: Project 9430

For comparison, I just got my first core 18, proj 9430 WU on a GTX 750 Ti SC. So far, TPF is 13:55 with PPD of 73.2k.

System is an AMD E-350 APU running Debian Wheezy with kernel 3.2.0-4, Nvidia driver 346.35.

Re: Core 18 and Maxwell

This is good news! Will clients with the "beta" flag have a chance to test the core?

Re: 7.3.6 mis-identifies GT 610 (GF119) as GF116

Oh one more follow-up is that I see this behavior for ION GPUs as well. They are identified as "C?? [ION]", which would seem to say FAHclient can't identify the chipset. Then the IONs only get assigned Projects in the 57xx range; is this intentional or a sign that it can't identify the GPU...

7.3.6 mis-identifies GT 610 (GF119) as GF116

As the title says, I've got a Zotac GT 610 PCI card who's GPU is mis-identified. FAH knows the card is a GT 610, it just claims the GPU is a GF116 when in actuality, GT 610's are GF119. Since the GF116 has either 144 or 192 cores to the GF119's 48 cores, this probably impacts the WUs assigned to the...

Re: Sanity check: Is this proper Kepler throttling?

Bruce, Thanks for that explanation! JimF, Thanks for the comparison. It sounds like my 650 is behaving properly, I just overestimated it relative to the 560 Ti. I really like the 560 Ti, and I got it as an open-box item for $77, so that was quite worth it. Not bleeding edge anymore, but still quite ...

Re: Sanity check: Is this proper Kepler throttling?

I loaded GPU-Z on that system, but haven't swapped the 650 back in yet, but I'll do that in the next day or two and report back. Though I will say, on another system I have, every tool reports the card's RAM improperly except GPU-Z... It is project 7626. I don't know how to properly calculate TPF fr...

quick update for anyone paying attention: i ended up pulling the second video card, the 8600gts, and i am up and folding. using the latest 310.90 driver on a GTX 560 sc version. i would still like to find a dual card solution, none of the config.xml edits i tried worked. i was using the other card ...

Sanity check: Is this proper Kepler throttling?

I got a great deal on an open-box EVGA GTX 650 "SuperClocked" 1GB GDDR5 board recently, so I wanted to test out its Folding performance relative to the GTX 560 Ti I also have. Not to mention, Folding is a great burn-in test for any used or open-box gear. My initial test went fine in terms ...

Re: Re: Low price GPUs

My experience has been that PCI cards are very hard to find. If a vendor has some in stock, it's not easy to figure out a google search that can exclude PCIe / PCI Express / PCI-E / (and all other combinations that mean the same thing). and only find ones that are truly PCI-only. Totally agree. I h...
