Re: GTX260M
Besides which I've sourced parts at Newegg for the build and all told it comes to right about 1300 bucks. Less than my Intel build. So for less than a new gaming desktop I can have 4 cpus and 4 video cards all folding in one box. =)

Re: GTX260M
Alas, no basement and to compound problems, am considering building a Beowulf cluster. But I got a new L-desk for Xmas, I just have to put it together. :\

Re: GTX260M
At least if it didn't work, you'd have somebody you could talk to about the BSODs. The BSoDs occur only on my desktop machine and only while trying to run 7.2.9. I don't get BSoDs on my laptop; I just couldn't load any newer CUDA drivers. Happy to report my laptop vid card took the 'newer' Dell dri...

Re: GTX260M
Thanks all for all of your help. At least I know I'm folding with my vid card and it has CUDA drivers installed. I still want to know why I could not install the latest CUDA drivers from the nVidia website, but at least I'm contributing with all of my hardware.

Re: GTX260M
@GreyWhiskers: Thank you for the excellent examples. How do I enable Expert mode? @bruce: I'm running Win7, so the support you're giving me is just fine. ;O) Below is an excerpt from my log file: (I did not refresh it..) 17:35:56:******************************* System *******************************...

Re: GTX260M
I'm running 7.2.9 on my laptop; but I don't know how to access the log in this version. This version makes my desktop computer BSoD, so I run different instances of the GPU and CPU folding programs. I don't know what the cause of the blue screens is.. I have a very mild CPU OC and a stock 550 Ti.. o...

Re: GTX260M
I tried as you suggested bruce, but with the same results. Oddly, my computer emitted a series of beeps the entire time after choosing edit+mark until I hit enter. I don't know what the problem is, but I suspect it has to do with Alienware and how they set up the system. Thankfully I also have a des...

Does not look like it worked very well.. Tried twice, thus the edit.

Re: GTX260M
The device codes from the first line in which the GTX260M is listed are: 0x10de:0x0618. But the drivers on the card are WHQL drivers from 2010 and I'd like to load the CUDA drivers. This is my problem - so far I have been unable to load the CUDA drivers even though nVidia's site says the card is sup...

Re: GTX260M
@Joe_H: No, the drivers from Dell are the WHQL drivers from 2010 and an incremental update from 2011 which Dell says are still beta :\ @GreyWhiskers: The F@H v7 software is loaded and running. I ran "fahclient --lspci" and see the results in a command prompt window, but am unable to copy a...
