Re: MSI Lightning GTX 680 recognition.
Mine is recognized improperly like yours, but works fine. I have the EVGA GTX 680 SC+ it's very unlocked too, and I had a lot of issues making it stable in every application and test. For some things I had to underclock the memory by about 50mhz and core by about 35mhz. Now it's running quite a bit ...

Re: Projects 762x Testing Core v2.25 on Adv
The credits from FAH are correct. I don't think HFM.net has the latest calculations. Here is what the server spit out at me.

Re: Projects 762x Testing Core v2.25 on Adv
I'm folding two of these now - GTX660Ti 1344 cores at boosted clock 1241 MHz (stock behavior for this EVGA FTW card): Project: 7623 (Run 570, Clone 0, Gen 50) 10 frames so far - 5:09 TPF; 14093 credit; Est 38902 ppd (never seen one of these on this card before - but seems over 2x ppd from what I've...

Re: How about a silent install with the v7 and beyond?
Be careful with loading FAH on a lot of desktop computers in one place, the wattage can really add up. think 300 watts x 5 computers. 1500 watts is over the allowed by a 15 amp circuit on 110v, and a fire hazard for 14 gauge romex wires. It's pushing the limit on 12 gauge too. You have to take into ...

Re: GPU Temperatures While Folding is Paused
If Precision works with your card properly, you should also be able to change the fan curve. I have a pretty good curve on my card, and under full load from FAH I run at about 62C. I don't like my card to get over 70C. You might check on your fan and heatsink on the card too. It might have some buil...

Re: Client Setup Optimization Questions
I wanted to reply back here with some results for others reference. If I lower the core count for the dual e7-4830 Xeon server to 30 during highest load hours it doesn't drop below 40k ppd. If I raise priority manually during low to no load hours it will achieve nearly 60k ppd. During high load hour...

Re: Programming background of community - expanded
I'm 28 now, and started early on programming. My age group was a really great time to get started if you were enthusiastic. I had computers in pretty much all of my growing up life, and started using BASIC at probably the age of 11 or so. I was able to get some older computers (commodore 64) at Salv...

Re: FAH on Samsung Chromebox running Chrome OS??
I've built some chromeboxes using hexxeh's builds. You can run whatever linux software you want on there. All I've ever seen run is x86, and the computers that I have built were atom based like some of the other chromebooks. I've used these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6856119056 moun...

Re: Chrome browser GPU usage
I've had this problem too, I get horrible GPU PPD if I leave chrome open when I leave the computer. I'll try the disable-gpu in a bit. I'm on the dev channel so there's no telling what features are working or not working at any given point.

Re: Client Setup Optimization Questions
Your E7 machine is running slow - my dual L5640 machine can get 45k even in windows and clocks are the same, with more cores you should be nearer 50-55k. However there have been some results posted on a couple of the team forums that have proven that for folding LGA1567 is not the best and can easi...

Re: Client Setup Optimization Questions
I have gotten permission a long time ago (my boss is the owner), and I own some of them myself. I tested out one of the beta units, the scoring was pretty crazy (183,000 ppd on one gtx 680 sc+). The priority of the FAH works remarkably well on CPU, I haven't noticed any difference at all on request ...

Re: Client Setup Optimization Questions
The "pause on battery" feature should work with the battery backups, if you can connect the UPS to the machine via USB. I didn't mean for that purpose. We have two huge battery backups that are in line with a diesel generator and commercial power from two different substations, no usb con...

Re: Client Setup Optimization Questions
Thanks for all of the info. I may attempt to setup a linux vm on the 16 core server and see if it does any good for a trial. I just did a little looking around and saw that the AMD server CPUs were doing way more PPD than comparably priced intel servers. I might have to make the next few server purc...
