Re: Folding @ Home performance on modern AMD GPU's has finally been restored! Driver 22.7.1
When I first got my RX 6900 XT earlier this year, I figured its underwhelming folding performance was a trait of the RDNA architecture. I became hopeful when I noticed that entry in the known issues list a couple of months ago. I installed the new driver tonight and did a quick comparison between it...

Re: 16600 consistently crashing on AMD Radeon VII
Project has been disabled on all AMD cards but Navi. Please let us know if you still receive new p16600 WU on AMD GPU :) The change seems to have worked on my RX 580. It finished the 16600 WU it was working on when I posted earlier and has since worked on 25 consecutive 13423's and currently workin...

Re: 16600 consistently crashing on AMD Radeon VII
Another one here having issues with 16600 on an AMD GPU. I'm running a Sapphire Pulse RX 580 8 GB in my home theater PC, underclocked to RX 480 levels (-7%). Here's a tally of the WUs it's worked on in the last two weeks: 13421: 72 finished, 1 failed 13423: 13 finished, 0 failed 16600: 10 finished, ...

Re: GPU CORE22 0.0.2 coming to FAH - p11737-9 feedback threa
Unfortunately, I don't have specific numbers for prior projects as I wasn't paying too much attention to all of the details then, just that the 1080 Ti seemed to be averaging 80-90% of rated TDP most of the time, with GPU utilization % close to those numbers as well. I'm unsure of the exact power co...

Re: GPU CORE22 0.0.2 coming to FAH - p11737-9 feedback threa
I took a look at my logs yesterday and noticed that I'm now receiving core 22 WUs - this is without using the advanced flag. I received my first core 22 WU (p11737) on January 31st, with a steady trickle until about February 9th. Since then, I've mostly received core 22 work on both my GTX 1080 Ti a...

Re: WARNING Do not upgrade to 375/376.xx drivers (for xx<48)
I had the same issue with the hotfix driver on my laptop (GTX 960M). Most WUs were fine, but occasionally it would throw that clEnqueueReadBuffer error (from what I could see, all were on core 21). The GPU would also randomly drop to 405 MHz and stay there until after a reboot. I went back to 372.70...

Fermi/Kepler (non-GK110) and newer drivers
A lot of this may seem anecdotal but I figured I'd post about it anyway since I haven't seen much recent discussion about it. I haven't scrutinized down to the TPF-per-project level in a while, hehe. Anywho... For quite a while, I kept my main PC on the 327.23 driver so my GTX 680 would fold quickly...

Re: Nvidia 350.xx with opencl 1.2
I tried 350.05 a few days ago with my GTX 680. Same huge drop in performance (using FAHBench to test) as any other driver above 327.23. Sigh...

Re: GTX 760
..I assume that the newer drivers are more efficient for games, any word on why the new drivers hinder folding so much? The 337.50 driver supposedly boosted DirectX performance by a decent amount. For me, it was about a 25-30% increase in WoW with my GTX 680. If you're not CPU-limited, it will like...

Re: Just a Quick Question.
...I'm curious as to if a Xeon would make any difference. I've posted back to let you know its up and running and its fine but I also have a Duel Socket HP Pro Liant Tower Server hear running one CPU Socket-ed Xeon at 3.0Ghz, over a 72GB RAID set up with 2Gb of Memory. Now the only thing or problem...

Re: GPU PPD List? R9 270X vs GTX 760
I would not flip a coin. As noted in the news blog, there is a future development on the horizon that could as much as double the NV GPU performance with CUDA JIT. If both NV and AMD perform the same now, why not opt for the one with a better future potential? But there's no timeline on when that w...

Re: GPU PPD List? R9 270X vs GTX 760
If it helps, the R9 270X is about identical to the 7870 other than more memory bandwidth (this doesn't affect F@H). I would expect the GTX 760 to be a bit below the 660 Ti for folding performance. Considering that, and the chart that P5-133XL linked to, my guess would be that the GTX 760 would be sl...

Re: HD 6450 running 0.00%
I tried folding on a HD 7470, which is basically a faster 6450. If I remember right, it either didn't make the deadline, or was very close to it (within a couple of hours).

Re: Fighting cancer on Folding@Home: EGFR
Yeah, I've seen my 680 vary quite a bit on various 9401 WUs, from my usual 70-80k to the 117k I mentioned earlier. I did notice one of the WUs my 680 processed recently had a ridiculously low TPF and completion ETA, something like two hours or less to do the whole thing. I didn't note the PRCG detai...

Re: Fighting cancer on Folding@Home: EGFR
My feeling is that they will decrease … you'll be in competition with a lot more donors! I switched my GPU to advanced to see what they were like, all I've had since is P9401's… but it made a change from the 8900's  My GTX 570 has worked on one 13000 WU so far. It took it about 32 hours to pr...
