Re: New profile field for hardware configuration
P.S. The hardware list does not appear in posts, it's only shown when you click on that user's profile button. That button is at the bottom of everyone's posts (like this one... http://foldingforum.org/styles/subsilver2/imageset/en/icon_user_profile.gif ) In about 2 years everyone will have the con...

Re: The spam filter
Oh by the way, the reason that URL is spaced in my post is because the spam filter won't let me post the word URL. (I can now because I've gone over 10 posts)

Re: OpenCL - GPU client and MacOS X?!
I've been reading up on CUDA (with the new NVIDIA workstation cards, I had to check it out) and it seems like OpenCL IS CUDA in some sort of wrapper*. The difference between CUDA and OpenCL is that OpenCL is cross-platform. (i.e. NVIDA, ATI and Intel GPUs) Of course we won't know all of this until 1...

The spam filter
I am very annoyed about the new spam filter you guys have put in. I can't post U R Ls or quote anyone that posts a U R L in there post? Wouldn't it be better if you just limited the posting date to 7, without the post count restriction?

AMD announces the Shanghai, a 12-core processor
Linky.
Really exciting! I hope it runs fast with all of those cores...
My main question is, would the SMP F@H client be able to handle all of these cores?

Re: Highwater Mark
Will there ever be one? I really don't want to go out and buy Windows just to run the GPU2 client.uncle_fungus wrote:Scroll down to the bottom of the downloads page and hit the "beta" star.
And in answer to the Linux question: no.

For all the Cell lovas' out there...
I made my own Cell logo (since I can't seem to find an official logo) based on the POWER logo (since Cell is based on POWER). Check it out: http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l25/CATSCEO/Cell-Power-architecture-logo.png Do whatever you want with it, print it out and hang it on your wall or print it o...
