Re: AMD gpu projects

All we can do is look at the hints that are being made. There is certainly progress being made, Can you elaborate on what hints and what progress you mean ? Ideally something very specific, on the two questions from my original post... because, while i thank all you for your answers, they are very ...

Re: AMD gpu projects

There continues to be tools issued by AMD; SDK, compilers, analyzers...etc to support open CL on their new architecture. This has nothing to do with AMD software. There are tons of OpenCL benchmarks & real world programs (e.g. boinc projects) that show, at the very least, performance comparable...

AMD gpu projects

Hi, I own a 7950 gpu. I tried folding on it some months ago, and i got (IIRC) about 6k PPD and always only one project assigned (11293). So a few questions: Are there any other projects planned that can use amd gpus ? Are there any plans to make the fah code more efficient on amd gpus ? So far i've ...

Re: 50 dual-core 2.8 GHz computers: Most effective configs?

Hmm, i stumbled into SMP FAQ -> Notes for running , saying 1. We strongly suggest people run this client on 4-core boxes. While it will run on 2-core boxes, we have noticed some potential problems (we are looking into these issues now). Does anyone know how old that information from FAQ is, and what...

Re: 50 dual-core 2.8 GHz computers: Most effective configs?

1- Do you guys think double uniprocessor slots rather than a SMP:2 slot are a better idea for computers of these configs? Dunno. Setup two machines, one with uni, one smp; let them churn for a while; then check which configuration finishes WUs sooner and what PPD they give you. Earlier finish = mor...

Re: FAH Website issue on Firefox

Try if your firefox loads https://fah-web.stanford.edu/download/style.css and http://www.stanford.edu/group/pandegrou ... nding2.gif because you're definitely missing the CSS and the images located on other servers. Also, check Tools -> Web Developer -> Error console -> Errors tab Cheers

Re: How to get FAH workunits that use alot of RAM

I believe only the SMP "bigadv" WUs use a lot of ram; to get those WUs, you need 16 CPU cores.

Re: Project: 7610 (Run 105, Clone 0, Gen 75)

Hello, nyanthiss, and welcome to the Folding@Home forums. :) I checked the database for the WU, Project: 7610 (Run 105, Clone 0, Gen 75), and found one problem return of this WU, but also two successful completion/returns so you can be assured this was not a bad WU. Hello, Thanks for the reply. Hav...

Project: 7610 (Run 105, Clone 0, Gen 75)

Hi, I have an old Dell machine running 24/7, not overclocked in any way. This specific unit caused segfault at least 20 times. Here's a log after restart: *********************** Log Started 2012-03-30T15:27:17 ************************ 15:27:17:************************* Folding@home Client *********...
