Re: 128.143.231.201 bigadv out of work
Looks like there is a small bit of work out there, but now I'm getting authentication failures. Re: 128.143.231.201 (BA) acting up?
Ok, I powered off, switched the power supply off and let all residual energy drain. After restart I removed the work folder, deleted the queue.dat, machinedependent.dat and unitinfo.txt file. This time, the steps seemed to have worked and I am getting an expected download size of more than 512. Than...

Re: 128.143.231.201 (BA) acting up?
So is there anything else I can try? There haven't been any software changes on this box and now it can't seem to pull a BA WU. This has been going on for a couple of days. Server still says 16 cores but can't seem to give my 24 core box a correct assignment and delivery. My 64 core boxes seem to wo...

Re: 128.143.231.201 (BA) acting up?
I think the problem still exists.
Earlier today, my 64 core boxes picked up SMP's but are now working on BA WU. The 24 core box can't seem to get a BA WU. Still trying to download 512 byte 8105, over and over.

Re: 128.143.231.201 (BA) acting up?
Finished my SMP WU from a few hours ago, but when I switch back to BA this is all that I get ( over and over ): [23:49:18] Trying to send all finished work units [23:49:18] + No unsent completed units remaining. Re: 128.143.231.201 (BA) acting up?
Just found mine doing the same thing on an 8101.
Receiving payload ( expected size: 512)
Couldn't shake it by deleting the unitinfo.txt, queue.dat and machinedependant.dat files. Gave up and set it to SMP.

Re: 3 out of 4 cores
So why do you think that it is only using 3 cores? At 95% it seems you are using all 4 cores for CPU folding, plus the cpu cycles needed to drive the GPU folding, plus run the operating system. The GPU folding and the operating system will interrupt the CPU folding when something needs to be done an...

Re: Been trying to fold for years..
I just saw this thread resurrected, and wondered if there was any significant change in drivers or cores that would affect the lower-power AMD GPUs. Also, does the GPU core still rob performance from the SMP core? So yes, there has been some development! The new GPU core 0x17 is based on OpenCL and...

Re: Been trying to fold for years..
My memories of 7.3.6 is that the GPU won't fold unless the power slider bar is run up towards the high setting. Haven't seen it mentioned in this thread, but something to check.

Re: 9401 fails on 750ti
Jim,
I haven't run my patches yet and I see an NVidia optional patch sitting there. It might be an old one that I never applied since it says it's release date was Oct 2013. Do you see an "Optional" driver update on one of the systems that you haven't patched?

Re: Empty Work Server assignment
Thanks for the info P5-133XL It looks like that is my issue. At first only the Linux box with the GTX570 was having the issue, but now my Linux box with the GTX580 is also exhibiting the issue. And I see that the server making new WU is the only server supporting Linux GPU. So they are happily await...

Empty Work Server assignment
I realize there were earlier GPU assignment issues, but this seems to be different. Maybe not! But this is what I keep getting on a Linux box: 06:37:56:WU00:FS01:Connecting to assign-GPU.stanford.edu:80 06:37:57:WU00:FS01:News: Welcome to Folding@Home 06:37:57:WARNING:WU00:FS01:Failed to get assignm...

Re: BA server problem? I'm getting SMP WU on my 4P
So is this an "availability" problem? Or an assignment server problem?
The assignment server seems to send me to 128.143.199.96 after about 2 BA WU. Then it gives me 2-3 SMP WU when BA WU ( 128.143.231.201 ) shows availability.
