Re: Download Bug Happening Again (*.220)

For the *.220 server, I removed my firewall rule that dropped TCP packets to that address and I did have one attempt to *.220 which failed. The difference this time was that the client was not hung and proceeded to find a WU on a different server. Logs should be available on request.

Re: Download Bug Happening Again (*.220)

A failure of port 8080 is not a failure when the WU is successfully uploaded to port 80. They both end up at exactly the same place. Sorry about the wasted 21 seconds. I'm sorry that the next line in the log was still pending when I extracted that portion of the log. I am smart enough to recognize ...

Re: Download Bug Happening Again (*.220)

Under Linux iptables -I INPUT -s 155.247.166.220 -j DROP sorry but works how? prevents connection attempts? prevents connection failures? As written, this rule drops all packets coming from that IP address, i.e. it will cause a connection failure in the FAHClient. See this post for the log output w...

Re: Download Bug Happening Again (*.220)

I believe .220 is only intermittently failing. The failure mode appears to be that the download starts but does not finish. Since there are no timeouts associated with the download, the client is hung waiting for the download to finish.

Re: Download Bug Happening Again (*.220)

A router/firewall rule to drop all packets being sent to 155.247.166.220 is working very well for me. I'm getting a steady stream of workloads from 140.163.4.241. ******************************* Date: 2020-03-03 ******************************* 05:06:18:WARNING:WU01:FS01:WorkServer connection failed ...

Re: FahCore_21 termintes on startup

I have an extra folder in the path:

C:\Users\Brad\AppData\Roaming\FAHClient\cores\fahwebx.stanford.edu\cores\Win32\AMD64\NVIDIA\Fermi\beta\Core_21.fah\FahCore_21.exe

Should I delete it (i.e. move Core_21.fah up one level)?

Re: Driver 337.88 and 600 (and earlier) series GPUs

They all end the same way. -> Use the 327.xx drivers on all hardware except the GK-110s until NV fixes their drivers. There is a kluge patch in the v55 beta fahcore_17 to workaround this driver issue, but the best speed will come when NV puts the fix in the drivers. So my questions remain unanswere...

Driver 337.88 and 600 (and earlier) series GPUs

There isn't a topic on version 337.88 of the driver and it folding performance (or lack thereof) on 600 and older series GPUs. Is this driver finally a replacement for the recommended 327.23 driver for these older GPUs? Has NVidia ever acknowledged that there is a problem? Have they ever said that i...

Re: Add driver version to log files

Welcome to foldingforum.org, b-morgan. I seriously doubt that FAH cares which driver version is present so it's unlikely that the code detects that number. Most driver version changes fix bugs encountered in specific games while leaving the API used by FAH completely unchanged so the information is...

Re: Local time vs UTC

A story (and a little suggestion): When I was first learning to fly, my flight instructor was explaining the standard "lingo" that pilots and ATC use to communicate on the radio. For obvious reasons, all times are given in UTC ("Zulu") even if I never flew beyond California/Ariz...

Local time vs UTC

While I can understand the desire to have everyone using the same time standard, it would be useful when troubleshooting to have an occasional entry in the log file indicating the local time in addition to the UTC time. For example, could the line: --- Opening Log file [May 6 02:06:25 UTC] be change...
